Hal McGee gives you his life's work!

Hal McGee is a tremendously prolific figure in experimental music. Cutting his teeth in the indie electronic tape scene of the 1980s, Hal released over 150 albums with numerous experimental musicians and composers as well as a king's ransom of solo material. Tape manipulation, concrete music, signal processing, circuit bending, analog synthesis, drone music, glitch, pure noise - pretty much every aspect of the electronic avant-garde has been meticulously explored by this musical iconoclast.

Significantly, Hal has opened the doors of his musical life to world. His website, www.halmcgee.com, features hours... and hours... of his recordings, spanning as far back as 1981. Some highlights that caught my eye include a duet with vicious alto saxophonist Jamison Williams, and an interesting conceptual piece called Automatic Confessional, which the public contributes to by calling a telephone number and adding any words, sounds, or noises they wish.
